Description

On offer here is ‘Princes of Zinj- The Rulers of Zanzibar’, by Genesta Hamilton. This first edition was published in 1957 by Hutchinson & Co. The book contains 272 pages of text (including a foreword by Elspeth Huxley), accompanied by 15 illustrations, a map, and a genealogical table of the dynasty of Al-Bu-Said of Oman.
The book is in good condition. The dustjacket is creased and chipped, largely at the corners and spine ends. The boards are rubbed along the edges, with some discolouration to the spine. The binding is solid. Page edges are foxed and stained. There are former owner stamps to the front pastedown and title page. There is some foxing to the internal pages, but most of this confined to the beginning and end pages. Overall the book is in good shape, with no tears, scribbles, creases, other other major flaws.
