This rare German-made camera from the iconic Carl Zeiss company features a polished, tropicalized teak wood body in great condition and nickel fittings. This folding plate camera is nearly a hundred years old, manufactured somewhere between 1927-1936 (c. 1930 likely) and has a black-painted front in the standard design of the era. Its brown leather bellows complement the black leather focusing hood.
The Troponen Adoro 230/5 has a dial-set Compur shutter with a Klastigmat Goerz lens (1:6, 8 F=12, 5 cm) no. 258646. Goerz later ceased its lens production after the merger with Carl Zeiss. This model also has a spirit level, infinity catch, viewfinder, and a distance guide. It is capable of rise and cross-front movements.
A prize piece for the serious collector, this would also look great in an early 20th century or steampunk-inspired layout.
